Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur Lake

Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake, also known as the "White Lake of the Terkh River," is situated at an altitude of 2060 meters. It's the crown jewel of Arkhangay and one of the most beautiful lakes in the country. This lake was formed as a result of the volcanic eruption of Mount Khorgo and is surrounded by the craters of other dormant volcanoes. It stretches for 16 kilometers in length and varies from 4 to 10 kilometers in width, covering an area of 61 square kilometers with an average depth of 20 meters. The lake is home to numerous pike and various other fish species. It remains frozen for a significant portion of the year. This area still retains its wild beauty, and you may encounter axis deer, marsh deer, wild boars, ducks, and great cormorants.
